Protection Plan FAQ
What is the difference between the Bronze, Silver and Gold plans?
Bronze is a maintenance plan: a yearly inspection, a safety check for gas and carbon monoxide, and cover for Aire One installed accessories such as thermostats and condensate pumps. Silver adds parts and labour on repairs up to $750 a year with no deductible. Gold raises that to $1,000 a year, or $1,500 on the heating and cooling plan, covers installed accessories and adds 25 per cent off furnace filters and humidifier pads, or free delivery.
How much does an HVAC protection plan cost?
Heating-only and cooling-only plans are $10.99 a month for Bronze, $19.99 for Silver and $28.99 for Gold. Combined heating and cooling plans are $19.99, $42.99 and $46.99 a month. Prices are plus applicable taxes and some conditions apply.
Is there a contract or a minimum term?
The plans are listed with no term. The written agreement sets out the cancellation terms, the exclusions and any fees, so ask for it and read it before you enrol.
Does a protection plan replace the manufacturer’s warranty?
No. A manufacturer’s warranty covers defective parts for a set period and normally does not include labour or yearly maintenance. A protection plan is a service agreement: scheduled maintenance every year and, on Silver and Gold, a yearly allowance for parts and labour on repairs.
Are emergency or after-hours visits included?
Availability and fees for emergency or after-hours service depend on the plan and on the time of the call. Diagnostic, dispatch or truck fees also depend on the plan, so confirm both in the written terms before you enrol.
