When is the best time of year to replace a furnace?

What should I check before calling for furnace service?

Make sure the thermostat is set to heat and above room temperature, the furnace power switch is on, the breaker has not tripped and the filter is not clogged. Every heating plan includes an annual 21-point furnace inspection and a safety check for gas and carbon monoxide. The Silver plan also covers parts and labour on furnace repairs up to $750 a year, and the Gold plan up to $1,000 a year, both with no deductible. Plans are month to month with no term.
